From the Del Ray Citizens Association List:
The 8th Annual Del Ray Citizens Association “Meet-n-Greet” will be held on
Monday, March 9th, 7:00pm in the George Washington Middle School Cafeteria.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for Del Ray residents to learn more about
the City services, volunteer opportunities, and interest groups that enhance our
quality of life and make Alexandria –and Del Ray especially– such a great
place to live.
Some 200 new residents are invited to become more acquainted with multiple
aspects of their new hometown, from planning and public safety to arts and
culture. Current residents will benefit from updates on City service
enhancements and ongoing projects that impact our community.
Of particular interest to all will be the designs and/or models for a number of the
development projects in our area including:
• Potomac Yard (A big aerial map with scale models)
• 2312 Mt Vernon Ave (the Citgo site at Oxford and Mt Vernon)
• 2903 Mt Vernon Ave (Anthony’s Auto)
• The pocket park at 1 & 7 E Del Ray Ave
• Mount Vernon Commons (i.e., the Triangle site at Commonwealth & Mt Vernon)
