ADOPT-A-PARK COORDINATOR SOUGHT… The current Adopt-A-Park Coordinator, Bianca Beeks, has decided to step down, sadly she and her family are moving. This coordinator is in charge of obtaining volunteers to help clean our parks for a few minutes each Sunday during the months of April through November. The City of Alexandria’s Parks and Recreation Commission invites residents to attend a public hearing to review and discuss the park plan for the property at 1 and 7 East Del Ray Avenue. The public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, November 20 at 7 p.m., at the Dr. Oswald Durant Memorial Center, 1605 Cameron St. The property, which is part of the City’s Pocket Park Program, was acquired in January 2008. The park plan is the result of comments and suggestions from two previous community meetings and an upcoming community meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 12 at 7 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Avenue.
