Snow Buddies Needed! With the first snow of the season, we are need of volunteers to shovel snow for the elderly in Alexandria. If you would be willing to help a neighbor, please fill out the snow buddies application and fax it to 704-683-1793 or email it to agrant@volunteeralexandria.org. If you have questions, please call 703-836-2176. Snow Buddies is a volunteer program administered by the City of Alexandria . It is aimed at providing snow removal, leaf raking and lawn mowing assistance to Alexandria ’s residents who: are physically unable to do so themselves, cannot afford to pay for this help; or do not have immediate neighbors, family or friends to assist them. You will be assigned a home in Alexandria where you will go in order to perform these service when they are needed. Notice for snow removal will be short and require immediate response from the volunteer
