Use paypal to pay your citizens association dues

Nov 13th, 2009 by rebecca

The Warwick Village Citizens Association has added a paypal option to their membership page, so now you don’t have any excuse to forget to pay your dues. The website has been spiffied up as well, so go check it out if you live in the Village. And pay your dues while you’re there….

The Del Ray Citizens Association has a paypal option as well. I don’t see a paypal option on the Lynhaven Citizens Association site, but they do seem to have lots of helpful info for the community. The Rosemont Citizens Association website is down, and has been for a long time. The Rosemont listserv is very active, I’m surprised the web presence is still awol. I also know what a pain in the neck it is for neighborhood associations to plan websites by committee, so I’m not criticizing, just commenting. (Really!)

Warwick Village yardsale: Saturday, April 18th

Apr 16th, 2009 by rebecca

Although we don’t post individual yardsale announcements on this blog, this is a community-wide effort that seems fair to “advertise.” Since this weekend is Spring Cleanup, I suspect there will be a lot of sales throughout the area, not just in Warwick Village.

From the Warwick Village email list:

2009 WARWICK VILLAGE YARD SALE - APRIL 18TH!… In response to several requests, we will hold a Warwick Village Community Yard Sale on April 18, 2009! As we have with Warwick Village yard sales held in the past, we have set our yard sale date to help us take full advantage of Spring Cleanup (see article below).

The plan for the yard sale is that individual home (or neighboring homes) set up their own table(s)/sale in front of their own house(s) starting at 8am on April 18, 2009. Warwick Village Citizens Association will market and advertise the yard sale online with Washington Post and Craig’s List, in local papers (where possible), and with posted signs. We plan to compile a list of participating homes and create a “map” which will be provided the day of the sale to each yard sale host for hand out to “customers” on April 18. In order for this “map” to be accurate, we would like confirmation of your participation by April 16. Please let Shanie know if you plan to participate by emailing her at shanie_bartlett@hotmail.com. Questions and suggestions are welcome.

(a pdf of the announcement is posted here on the Warwick Village website)
